かすめとる【掠め取る】

〔盗む〕 rob 《sb of sth, sth from sb》; 〔ごまかして奪う〕 cheat 《sb (out) of sth》; do sb out of sth.

●人から金をかすめ取る rob sb of his money; cheat sb (out) of his money; do sb out of his money

・横からかすめ取る cheat sb behind his back.

●撒(_ま)いたツルの餌をカラスがかすめ取っていく. The crows steal [make off with] the food put out for the cranes.

・財布をかすめ取られた. I was robbed of my purse. | I had my purse stolen.
